This family-friendly recipe features large pasta shells generously filled with a savory ground beef mixture infused with zesty taco seasoning and salsa. Topped with melted cheese, these stuffed shells deliver all the flavors of tacos in a comforting pasta bake.

  • 12 large pasta shells
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 ounce taco seasoning
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta shells in salted boiling water until al dente; drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef seasoned with salt and pepper. Drain excess fat, then stir in taco seasoning and salsa; cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Fill each pasta shell with the beef mixture.
  4. Spread a layer of salsa in a baking dish, arrange stuffed shells seam-side up, top with remaining salsa and shredded cheese.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
  6. Serve hot, drizzled with sour cream and garnished with cilantro if desired.
