- 1 tablespoon green food coloring (adjust as needed)
- 1 tablespoon milk (adjust as necessary)
Instructions
- Cream the softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl; gradually mix into the butter mixture.
- Divide dough in half; add cocoa to one half and green food coloring plus milk to the other half.
- Wrap both doughs in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Roll out each colored dough into rectangles about ¼ inch thick; cut strips approximately 1 inch wide.
- Layer strips of chocolate and green dough side by side, then stack them to form a block; refrigerate again for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the chilled block into cookies about ¼ inch thick and place on parchment-lined baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until set; cool before serving.
