Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp almond extract
  • 2 8 oz containers of cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups heavy cream, room temperature
  • 1 pre-made angel food cake, sliced into 1 inch slices
  • 2 pints strawberries, rinsed and sliced
  • 2 pints blueberries, rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1/4 cup sugar with lemon juice and water until dissolved. Mix in cream cheese and almond extract until smooth.
  2. In another bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form; gently fold into the cream cheese mixture.
  3. Layer angel food cake slices in a trifle dish followed by the cream mixture, strawberries, and blueberries. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
  4. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
