- 1 large green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 large red bell pepper, sliced
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- ¼ cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
Instructions
- Season the sliced flank steak with salt and black pepper in a bowl.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining oil and sauté the onion and bell peppers for about 5 minutes until tender. Stir in garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
- In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, beef broth, cornstarch, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and sesame oil (if using) until smooth.
- Return beef to skillet, pour sauce over everything, and stir well. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
