Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 2/3 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup patriotic sprinkles
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened, for frosting)
  • 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • pinch of sea salt (for frosting)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons whole milk

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a 9×13 baking dish with parchment paper or foil and lightly spray it with cooking spray.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a stand mixer, cream softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla.
  4. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients and gently fold in patriotic sprinkles.
  5. Press dough into the baking dish evenly and bake for about 25–28 minutes until golden brown. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. For frosting, whip softened butter until smooth; gradually add powdered sugar, salt, vanilla, and milk until fluffy.
  7. Once cooled, spread frosting over cookie bars and top with extra sprinkles.
