  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 12 small garlic bread rolls

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and minced garlic; mix until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into small meatballs (about 1 inch in diameter).
  4. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the meatballs on all sides for about 6-8 minutes; remove and drain excess grease.
  5. Pour marinara sauce into the skillet; add the cooked meatballs and simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Slice each garlic bread roll in half and layer with mozzarella cheese, a meatball, more sauce, and additional cheese.
  7. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until cheese is melted.
