Instructions

- Butter a 1.5 quart baking dish or an 8-inch square dish and set aside in the roasting pan.

- In another bowl, whisk flour and buttermilk together; then add to the wet mixture.
- In a stand mixer, whisk egg whites until soft peaks form; gently fold into the mixture until combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving dusted with powdered sugar or paired with ice cream.
