  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup diced jalapeños (fresh or pickled)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash)
  • Optional: sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets on a floured surface and cut each into 1-inch strips.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well mixed.
  4. Place about 1 tablespoon of the cheese mixture at one end of each strip, fold over to seal edges tightly, twist the pastry strip several times, and arrange on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Brush each twist with egg wash and sprinkle with optional toppings.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
