Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 cup water
- 2 cups Fritos
- 1 can chili beans
- 1 can diced tomatoes with green chilies
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Sour cream for topping
- Shredded lettuce for topping
- Diced tomatoes for topping
- Diced onion for topping
- Sliced jalapeños (optional) for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for 5-7 minutes; drain excess fat.
- Stir in taco seasoning and water; simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
- In a 9×13-inch baking dish, layer half of the Fritos, followed by the beef mixture, chili beans, diced tomatoes, and half of the cheese.
- Top with remaining Fritos and cheese.
- Cover with foil; bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving; top with sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and jalapeños if desired.
