Description

Dubai Chocolate Cake is a rich, moist chocolate cake layered with a buttery pistachio kataifi filling and finished with a silky ganache topping. A luxurious dessert that brings the indulgent flavors of Dubai to your kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (preferably Dutch processed)

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

¼ teaspoon salt

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ cup milk

½ cup vegetable oil

½ cup hot coffee

For the pistachio filling:

2 cups kataifi, finely chopped

2 tablespoons butter

1 cup pistachio cream

For the ganache:

4 oz milk or semi-sweet chocolate bar

½ cup heavy cream or table cream

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350℉. Grease an 8- or 9-inch square or round pan.

2. In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. Add egg, vanilla, milk, and oil. Whisk until combined.

4. Add hot coffee and whisk until smooth.

5. Pour into pan and bake 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with crumbs.

6. Let the cake cool completely before decorating.

7. In a pan, toast chopped kataifi with butter over medium heat until golden and crisp. Let it cool.

8. Fold in pistachio cream and stir gently to combine.

9. For the ganache, chop chocolate and place it in a bowl with cream.

10. Microwave for 45 seconds. Let sit 3–5 minutes, then whisk until smooth.

11. Spread the pistachio filling evenly over the cooled cake.

12. Pour ganache on top and smooth it out with a spatula.

13. Garnish with chopped pistachios or extra toasted kataifi before serving.

Notes

Use high-quality chocolate for the ganache such as Ghirardelli, Milka, or Cadbury.

For an extra creamy topping, use table cream. Heavy cream works well too.

Allow the cake to cool fully before layering to prevent melting.
