  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 8 large flour tortillas
  • 2 cups crushed tortilla chips
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • ½ cup sliced black olives (optional)
  • ½ cup sliced green onions (optional)
  • Cooking spray or oil for greasing the baking dish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and drain excess fat. Stir in taco seasoning and water; simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. In the greased baking dish, layer beef mixture, tortillas, crushed tortilla chips, half of the cheese, black beans, and repeat layers.
  4. Top with remaining cheese and cover with aluminum foil. Bake for 20 minutes; then uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly.
  5. Let cool slightly before topping with sour cream, tomatoes, lettuce, and other desired toppings.
