Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Additional salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and fresh parsley. Mix until well combined and form into meatballs approximately 1-inch in diameter.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until they are soft and browned, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir for 1 minute to create a roux. Gradually add chicken broth while stirring continuously until smooth. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened. Add heavy cream and Worcestershire sauce; mix well. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Return the turkey meatballs to the skillet with the mushroom sauce. Gently mix to coat them in the sauce. Simmer for an additional 5-7 minutes until cooked through and heated.
  6. Transfer the meatballs and sauce to a serving dish. Garnish with more chopped parsley if desired. Serve warm alongside pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes.
