  • 2 pounds chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoons red chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons coriander powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 23 green chilies, slit lengthwise
  • 1 cup tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken with turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet and add mustard seeds until they splutter.
  3. Sauté chopped onion until golden brown.
  4. Add minced garlic, ginger, and green chilies; cook for about 2 minutes.
  5. Add marinated chicken; sauté until the chicken turns white (about 5-7 minutes).
  6. Mix in chopped tomatoes; cook until softened.
  7. Cover and simmer on low heat for about 20-25 minutes until the chicken is tender.
  8. Stir in garam masala and cook an additional 2 minutes.
  9. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
