- 2 pounds chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 teaspoons red chili powder
- 2 teaspoons coriander powder
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon minced ginger
- 2–3 green chilies, slit lengthwise
- 1 cup tomatoes, chopped
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate chicken with turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a skillet and add mustard seeds until they splutter.
- Sauté chopped onion until golden brown.
- Add minced garlic, ginger, and green chilies; cook for about 2 minutes.
- Add marinated chicken; sauté until the chicken turns white (about 5-7 minutes).
- Mix in chopped tomatoes; cook until softened.
- Cover and simmer on low heat for about 20-25 minutes until the chicken is tender.
- Stir in garam masala and cook an additional 2 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
