- 1 jar (24 ounces) Morello cherries, drained and juice reserved

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two greased and floured 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract; beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes. Gradually stir in boiling water until smooth.
- Divide the batter evenly between the two pans and bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
- Once cooled, slice each cake horizontally in half. Reserve cherry juice after draining cherries.
- In another bowl, whip cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
- Assemble the cake by layering: moisten each layer with cherry juice, spread whipped cream, add cherries, and repeat until all layers are stacked.
