  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce (optional)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons hot honey or chili-infused honey
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken in buttermilk (and hot sauce if desired) for at least one hour or overnight.
  2. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Prepare breading by mixing flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne in a shallow dish; place panko breadcrumbs in another dish.
  3. Coat chicken by dredging in the flour mixture, dipping back into buttermilk, and finally pressing into panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F).
